The New Hampshire

There’s no I...

Annie Get Your Gun: another musical comedy to die (laughing) for! The over-exaggerated superficial love and competing business stories of this film and Broadway show are hilarious throughout and extremely entertaining. In fact, the childish tone of the song, “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better” shows the more superficial aspects of some competition, even in the adult world. In real life, we might not use those words, or react in the such dramatic ways to some of the show’s situations, but the basis for our behavior is there.

Claiming the Throne

·

“Game of Thrones” (GOT) will end after season eight. There are only 13 episodes left in HBO’s most successful television show ever. After hundreds of Emmy nominations and dozens of wins, “Game of Thrones” will go down as one of the best investments by HBO ever. Yeah, it costs millions of dollars more to produce than most shows out there, but when you’re pulling in record numbers and season six posted the most viewers for any GOT episode, the executives are understandably looking for a new show to replace the void. Where there’s a vacuum of this magnitude, what does HBO do now?

A living nightmare: Bullying at UNH

Let’s take a trip down memory lane; back to the grammar school basics. If you passed kindergarden, the “golden rule,” or law, was most likely ingrained into your brain. “Treat others as you wish to be treated.” It’s a pretty simple concept, yet seems to be one that is ignored after graduating the 5th grade.

The New Hampshire

After Trump

·

If on Nov. 28, I mean Nov. 8, Donald Trump loses the 2016 presidential election, there will first be calls to end voter fraud or declarations that the election was fixed, and then Trump will build his alt right media empire. For more than a year now, Trump has been completely manipulating the media to his advantage. Whether it is streaming his Mussolini-like speeches without interjection from media fact checkers, or CNN hiring his ex-campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, the mainstream media has failed miserably at stopping the most out of control candidate to ever run for the White House.

Challenging our 7 percent

·

All last week, our Twitter page @thenewhampshire had a poll asking our followers who they were going to vote for on Election Day. With Twitter limiting us to four choices, we had our followers choose between  “Clinton,” “Trump,” “Third party” and “not voting.” Sunday night the poll closed and our results are published in today’s paper on page 4. As you can see, 71 percent of those who answered voted for Clinton, 14 percent for Third party, eight percent for Trump and seven percent for not voting. We editors at The New Hampshire were thrilled to have 150 people involved in our poll, however we are worried about the fact that seven percent of respondents said that they are not going to vote.
