If you are interested in joining our team below are the positions that we offer:
Staff writer:
- Attend weekly general meetings
- Be assigned editor/editing group you'll meet with at said meeting (this is based on your choice)
- Communicate with editor via Slack
- Keep up with campus happenings
- Create content of your choice and always be working on something (hard news, sports coverage, podcasts, opinion pieces, etc.)
Editor
- Attend weekly general meetings and editorial meetings (Mondays right before general meeting)
- Be assigned a group of Staff Writers to guide through their creative process
- Responsible for editing your group's content first—before it goes to The Managing Editor (Emma Kostyun)
- Communicate with editorial staff
- **this position requires experience as a Staff Writer**
Photographer
- Attend weekly meetings (more flexibility here)
- Offer support to Staff Writers on the job by taking pics for their stories
- Communicate via Slack with Editors/Staff writers when photos are needed
- Staff headshots
Social Media
- Create social media graphics advertising TNH content
- Keep up with/alert the TNH team of pressing DMs
Contributing writer
- Submit content on your own time
- Stop by contributor meetings @ 6:30 Mondays when interested
- Email tnhstaff@gmail.com with stories if freelance over in-person is more your thing
