Penalties plague Wildcats in 24-20 loss on opening night

·

DURHAM, N.H. – It felt more like November than September when the Wildcats (0-1) kicked off their season this time around. As snow lined Wildcat Stadium redshirt sophomore quarterback Jeff Undercuffler torched the Wildcat defense in the third quarter to build a 10-point UAlbany (1-0) lead. UNH beat themselves as penalties stacked up and they squandered a chance to steal a win in the final moments. Despite shining at points, the Wildcats fell by a final of 24-20 in their first of six games this spring.

UNH set to welcome UAlbany into Wildcat Stadium Friday night

·

DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire (UNH) football last took the field 15 months ago when they took down Maine in the final game of 2019 to take back the Brice-Cowell Musket. Today, the Wildcats prepare to kick-off their six-game season under the lights of Wildcat Stadium on Friday night. The team will welcome UAlbany into Durham for week one of the 2021 slate. This will also be the first time since fall of 2018 that head coach Sean McDonnell will be under the headset for the Wildcats; McDonnell missed all of 2019 while on medical leave.

No. 14 UNH set to kickoff season in two weeks

·

DURHAM, N.H. – No. 14 University of New Hampshire (UNH) football is set to kick off their spring season in two weeks after having the fall slate postponed. The Wildcats will face a six-team schedule consisting of only Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) schools. After watching the departure of a handful of veteran defenders from 2019, head coach Sean McDonnell still thinks his defense can be a threat and will be supplemented by developing offensive talent.

Coach Mac addresses spring season at CAA Media Day

DURHAM, N.H. – Normally the annual Blue-White Game is the last action we see from University of New Hampshire football before the school year ends. This year, however, this is just the start of the action for the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). CAA Media Day – which normally takes place in July – was held via Zoom last week as UNH and the rest of the league prepares for the first week of March.

UNH ties to Monday’s CFP National Championship Game

·

The biggest storyline ahead of Monday night’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game is head coach Nick Saban going for his seventh career national title. Saban has led his Alabama Crimson Tide to a 12-0 record en route to becoming the No. 1 team in the nation and now bidding to become national champions. For the state of New Hampshire, however, there should be a heightened level of interest for the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night.

Offensive Player of the Year: Dylan Laube

·

In a season with a lot of uncertainty on the offensive side of the ball it’s fair to say that the team found a formula that worked; Max Brosmer and his young offense funneled through the running backs.
