At 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday Mar. 3, the University of New Hampshire’s Police issued a timely warning notification regarding a burglary investigation in Handler Hall.
The notice reported that on Monday Mar. 2, around 5:55 p.m., an unknown suspect entered a dorm room in Handler Hall and stole a pair of UGG slippers. Shortly after, another call was made at 7:07 p.m., reporting a similar incident regarding a male who entered another dorm room and fled once he was acknowledged.
These two calls were following up on Tuesday, when UNH PD officially took the burglary report.
There was a description provided of the subject, a male with glasses, dark short hair, and possibly wearing a bright multi-striped shirt.
There was another call on Tuesday at 5:58 p.m. about another burglary in Handler Hall.
So far, the only items that have been reported stolen are UGGs and other similar footwear.
UNH Detective Sean Wilton advises students to follow the crime prevention tips included in the timely warning email, including locking your dorm room anytime you leave, and if you see something suspicious, call UNH Police.
