UNH football: No. 25 Wildcats turn the page on Pitt, brace for No. 3 JMU on Homecoming Weekend

·

The No. 25 University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (3-1, 2-0) have not let last week’s 70-point beating at Pittsburgh (Pitt) sour their moods ahead of Homecoming Weekend. New Hampshire will be welcoming the FCS powerhouse No. 3 James Madison (JMU) Dukes (3-0, 1-0) into Wildcat Stadium. The Dukes were FCS semifinalists in the spring and are the second leg of the toughest portion of the Wildcats’ schedule this fall.

UNH football: Bigger, faster Pitt dominant in 70-point rout of No. 21 Wildcats

·

PITTSBURGH, PA. – The Pittsburgh (Pitt) Panthers (3-1, 0-0) made it clear they weren’t going to let the No. 21 University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (3-1, 2-0) sneak up on them like Western Michigan had in week three. The Panthers bullied the smaller Wildcat team for 60 minutes en route to a 77-7 statement victory at Heinz Field.

UNH football: No. 23 Wildcats proving to be dominant on both sides of the ball through two weeks

The No. 23 University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (2-0, 2-0) have not been playing like a team that watched their starting quarterback go down just days before their season opener. Sophomore quarterback Bret Edwards and the rest of the offense have been playing like men possessed while the defense has been living up to their lofty preseason expectations.

UNH football: Evan Horn provides insurance for Wildcats after five failed attempts on special teams

·

DURHAM, N.H. – It was going to take a complete defensive effort for the Wildcats (2-0, 2-0) to take down the Towson Tigers (1-1, 0-1) Saturday night and that’s exactly what they got. University of New Hampshire (UNH) was aided by upward of 10,000 fans inside Wildcat Stadium; however, after three missed field goals by redshirt junior kicker Jordan Conn, the true insurance came from senior safety Evan Horn in the 26-14 win.

Players to watch ahead of fall football season

·

UNH football only had the opportunity to play one game this spring. In week they hosted UAlbany and lost by a final of 24-20. While coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns may have halted their spring campaign, there are still more than a handful of players for UNH to be excited about before they kick off again on Sept. 4.

Former Wildcat Pop Lacey signs with the NAZ Wranglers of the IFL

·

The last time Pop Lacey suited up was all the way back on Nov. 23, 2019 when the Wildcats defeated the Maine Black Bears 28-10 to take back the Brice-Cowell Musket. Today, Lacey is headed to northern Arizona for his first opportunity at professional football with the Northern Arizona Wranglers of the Indoor Football League (IFL).

UNH opts out of final weeks after playing just one game

·

DURHAM, N.H. – After only competing in one of their six scheduled games this spring, University of New Hampshire (UNH) football (0-1) has opted out of their final two games of the regular season. The decision came after ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns within the program caused the postponement of three games.

UNH football COVID-19 update

·

DURHAM, N.H. – After coming up just short in a 24-20 loss at home against UAlbany (1-2), the No. 24 University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (0-1) had their following two games postponed due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns within the UNH program. The Wildcats were set to host No. 11 Delaware (2-0) at home in week two and go on the road to No. 16 Villanova (1-1) in week three. They now look ahead to their trip to No. 18 Rhode Island (2-0) on April 3.
