Building a dream

·

“When I came in there was just one side court, [Lundholm] didn’t have the main court or the other courts. I think there were about 10 volleyballs and one set of uniforms,” UNH’s head volleyball coach Jill Hirschinger said, reminiscing about her first days with the program.

Jim Boulanger: the player’s coach

·

I had the pleasure of sitting down with the head coach of the men’s cross-country and track and field programs Jim Boulanger, this past Tuesday, and as athletes slowly trickled in to the Paul Sweet Oval for track practice, I was able to learn why he coaches and how he has done this for so long.

The weekend proved to be a busy one for the ‘Cats as they kicked off their outdoor season with a bang.  Both teams split up and sent a few athletes to the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Virginia, while the bulk of the teams competed at the tri-meet against Bates College and the University of Maine at the Maine campus.

Lets Make it Clare: Baseball: the soon to be forgotten sport

·

In North American sports, one can associate the start of a season with the beginning of a particular sport. Fall has football and winter has hockey and basketball, depending on the type of person you ask. What about spring and summer? Is it golf or soccer? Wait I got it, I think it’s this sport called baseball?

Brian's Banter: Breaking down the Adam LaRoche saga

·

Storylines constantly consume the MLB around spring training time. For example, the Red Sox have been under the microscope at times, such as when Pablo ‘The Tank’ Sandoval showed up to spring training looking uncomfortably hefty, or when Hanley Ramirez showed up to play first base without a first baseman’s glove. But the biggest and most controversial story that’s circling the MLB news mill is the story of Adam LaRoche and his son, Drake.
