New records have been set on both a school and championship level this past weekend thanks to some spectacular performances by the women’s indoor track and field team. Capturing a respectable third-place at the America East Conference Championships in Boston, the ‘Cats saw success on multiple levels.

In a season when the UNH women’s ice hockey team looked to build and succeed around star senior Jonna Curtis for the last time, they came just one game shy of moving to the semifinals of the Hockey East playoff tournament.

‘Cats win regular season title, tie program’s win record

For the first time in program history, the UNH women’s basketball team has won the America East regular season title. After a 62-57 win against the University of Hartford, the Wildcats sealed up the conference crown and tied the program’s record with the most wins in a season.

UNH finishes fourth as they prepare for regionals

After a weekend of struggle at the Dartmouth Carnival, where UNH skiing dropped below Vermont, Dartmouth and Middlebury for a fourth place overall score, the Wildcats had hoped to recover some of that lost ground at this weekend’s Middlebury Carnival. It didn’t go quite as well as they’d intended, but the team has every reason to be optimistic in the following weeks.

Wildcats are ready for America East meet

The highly anticipated America East (AE) conference championship is upon the runners, throwers and jumpers of UNH.  Next weekend on Feb. 24-25 the ‘Cats will take to the Boston University Track & Tennis Center against the eight other teams in the conference. Here’s what you need to know if you plan on keeping up with these two teams.

Goodspeed claims 600 wins

On Sunday afternoon at Lundholm Gymnasium, Gail Goodspeed earned her 600th career win as the head coach of the UNH gymnastics team. The Wildcats defeated the Temple University Owls by a score of 196.450-194.350 in the annual “Stick It for the Cure” meet. The win gave the Wildcats their season-high score of 196.450, their 25th straight win at Lundholm Gymnasium and Goodspeed’s 600th victory since she took over as head coach in 1979-80.

The ‘Cats stayed true to the theme of ‘Light Up Lundholm’ night at Lundholm Gymnasium as the Wildcats put together an impressive performance against the University of Maine.
