UNH men’s soccer: Wildcats smash past UMBC and head to fourth straight AE championship

On a crisp November night, the playoffs began for the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (16-0-2, 7-0-1). After a first-round bye, UNH hosted the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Retrievers (8-8-3, 3-4-1) in the America East (AE) semifinals. With a trip to their fourth straight America East Championship on the line, the 'Cats played some of their best soccer on the season. UNH was fluid and dangerous all night and ensured that the only thing the Retrievers brought home was 4-0 thrashing.

UNH cross country: Wildcats earn second-place finish from the women, fifth-place from the men in America East Championships

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats hosted the men’s and women’s America East Championships two weekends ago in College Woods. On a sunny autumn day, the Wildcats competed against nine opposing schools in the final race before the NCAA Regional Championships. After finishing dead last in two of their first three races, the men’s team found improvement with a fifth-place finish in this one. On the women’s side, a valiant effort pits them a second-place finish in their race.

UNH women's soccer: Wildcats come up one goal short in America East Championship

BURLINGTON, V.T. — 11 minutes and seven seconds. With the score knotted at zero, that was all that separated the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats women’s soccer (6-9-4, 4-4-1) and the University of Vermont (UVM) Catamounts (12-5-1, 7-2-0) from overtime Sunday afternoon. Regulation had been ambivalent to UNH, while overtime had been kind to them. Their road to the America East Championship involved back-to-back shootout victories.

UNH men’s basketball: Experience and improved 3-point shooting highlight Wildcats’ bid for an America East title

DURHAM, N.H. – Just three years removed from a five-win season, University of New Hampshire (UNH) men’s basketball head coach Bill Herrion says he believes the program has been building toward this season. Highlighted by two Preseason All-Conference selections, the reigning America East Rookie of the Year and the addition of elite 3-point shooting, Herrion and the Wildcats will need to learn how to live with a target on their back in the America East this season.

UNH football: Wildcats ‘playing for pride’ after being trampled by Mofor

First-year quarterback Brody McAndrew got the start on Saturday over sophomore Bret Edwards for the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (3-6, 2-4). The rookie’s inexperience bled through, however, as the Wildcats found themselves playing catch-up with UAlbany (1-8, 1-6) and their senior running back Karl Mofor all afternoon. The 20-7 loss for New Hampshire extends their losing streak to six games and likely their playoff drought to a fourth consecutive season.

UNH men’s soccer: No. 7 Wildcats one of two undefeated teams in the nation, clinch home field advantage

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (15-0-2, 7-0-1) have gone undefeated and is one of just two teams in the nation to do so. The Wildcats sawed off the UMass Lowell (UML) Riverhawks (4-11-1, 3-5-0) Monday night by a final score of 1-0. The narrow victory never felt that close with UNH in the driver’s seat for most of the night. Graduate student Paul Mayer bagged the game winner for his fifth goal of the season.

UNH volleyball: Wildcats’ 16 consecutive set victories propel them towards the playoffs

It was an incredible second half of October for the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (15-10, 6-4). Six consecutive wins, sixteen consecutive set wins, and big-time victories against Stony Brook (12-11, 6-3) and UAlbany (11-13, 6-5) headlined a season-saving run. UNH is poised for a playoff spot as the final month of the season is underway.

UNH women’s soccer: Wildcats secure sixth seed, draw NJIT in the America East quarterfinals

Thursday afternoon’s match against the University of Vermont (UVM) Catamounts (10-5-1, 7-2-0) was the exception to that norm as the Wildcats lost by a final of 3-0 in their regular season finale. This is the first time since Oct. 14, 2018, that New Hampshire has allowed three goals in a game. While the loss wasn’t enough to drop the ‘Cats out of the playoffs, it erased their hopes of reaching the second seed and drops them to sixth in the America East Championship.
