ECenter recruits student entrepreneurs through sticky notes
Since January of this year, students interested in starting their own companies have had the opportunity to develop their original ideas through the use of the Peter T. Paul Entrepreneur Center (ECenter). Thoughts and ideas of some student entrepreneurs can be first seen upon a sticky note filled bulletin board that is located at the entrance to the center.
National fellowships and scholarships open up opportunities
Studying abroad. Conducting research. Teaching English. Partaking in a professional internship. These are just four of the opportunities that students can delve into as a result of receiving a national fellowship or scholarship.
Durham holds Zero Waste Conference, encourages the initiative
The third annual Students for Zero Waste Conference was held in Durham this past weekend, with Keynote Speaker Lisa Bjerke hosting a talk in the Memorial Union Building’s (MUB) Granite State Room (GSR) on Saturday morning, Nov. 12. During the course of the day, presentations and activities were held to educate participants on the zero waste initiative.
Free speech zones tested at Democratic rally
President Barack Obama made his way to UNH in one of his last campaign stops for Hillary Clinton on the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 7, to encourage people to vote Democratically on the national and local levels. During that rally, several protestors occupied the free speech zone, but some did not.
Student Senate Update: SAFO budgets put up for discussion, results of first year senator elections found invalid
The majority of Sunday night’s Student Senate meeting was devoted to discussing next year’s budgets for Student Activity Fee Organizations (SAFOs). Over the course of the meeting, which ran 6:05 p.m.-12:21 a.m., 11 out of the 15 organizations on the list were discussed to some degree, more some than others.
SnowCat program to provide improved snow removal process
As reported by The New Hampshire in March 2015, the snowfall during the winter of 2014-15 nearly doubled southern New Hampshire’s usual snowfall accumulation. According to UNH Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance Officer Wendy Beckwith, it was after this winter that the university began researching ways to make the campus more accessible for people of all mobility levels.
Champion NASCAR driver visits UNH
STEM advocate and champion NASCAR driver Julia Landauer shared her experience of the male-dominated sport of NASCAR in an event hosted by the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA and the Society of Women Engineers on Wednesday, Nov. 9 in the Memorial Union Building’s (MUB) Stafford Room. A big round of applause greeted her as she stepped up onto the stage.

Hundreds of Wildcats give back to Durham community through UNH Serves
Approximately 450 Wildcats dedicated their Saturday afternoon on Nov. 5 to giving back to the greater UNH community, according to UNH Community Service Coordinator Megan Brabec. The fourth annual UNH Serves Day brought UNH students from different residence halls, campus organizations and clubs to 24 different locations throughout the Seacoast region and Manchester. Brabec said that the UNH Serves program encourages students to get off campus and become more engaged in the greater community that the university is a part of .
Changes in GPEP formatting to be made soon
All UNH sorority and fraternity organizations are required to submit campus involvement forms on Wildcatlink in order to stay in good standing with the Greek Performance and Excellence Program (GPEP). Each sorority and fraternity must pass the GPEP standards annually; otherwise it’s three strikes and they’re out.

What has four legs, a tail and is always excited to see you? A dog of course! Just as there are students at UNH, there are dogs too. Recently, sophomore zoology major Ariana Casasanta decided to start a club for student dog owners.
Maiden Harmony hosts annual Fight Like a Wildcat fundraiser H
Maiden Harmony, a UNH all-female a cappella group, hosted their third annual Fight Like a Wildcat fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2-4 p.m. in Murkland Hall. Maiden Harmony has been teaming with this foundation consistently since they first created the Fight Like a Wildcat event in 2014.
