UNH SHARPP holds annual event to support survivors

On Oct. 14, Thompson Hall lawn was illuminated with glowsticks and candles as University of New Hampshire’s (UNH) Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention Program (SHARPP) held their annual Take Back The Night event.

UNH President announces vaccine mandate for all UNH employees

In an announcement sent out last Friday, UNH President James Dean announced that under new federal requirements some UNH faculty members are considered federal contractors and will now be subject to vaccine requirements. However, on Friday, Oct. 22, Dean announced that this vaccination requirement would now expand to all university employees, including students employed by the university.

DURHAM - The Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention Program (SHARPP) at the University of New Hampshire (UNH), held its annual community event on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Wolff House, welcoming students and others who want to learn more about the organization’s mission and services.

UNH hosts annual flu clinic for community

Flu? No thank you! The University of New Hampshire’s (UNH) Health & Wellness held the first day of their annual flu clinic on Oct. 13 at Hamel Recreation Center from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The second flu clinic will be held on Oct. 21.

UNH Celebrates National Coming Out Week

This past week, the University of New Hampshire (UNH) celebrated National Coming Out Week on campus to honor those who have come out as queer, queer individuals who cannot safely come out to their families, and those who want to be supportive of the community and expand their allyship.

Saying goodbye to the beloved Portsmouth whale wall

For current and previous Portsmouth citizens, the famed Whale Wall overlooking the Worth parking lot has been a source of pride for the past 28 years. However, the mural is now undergoing deconstruction which has received an array of reactions from the Portsmouth public.

UNH profited from Indigenous lands out west

A number of paved walkways stretch across the University of New Hampshire’s (UNH) Durham campus. They are unnamed and unidentifiable to emergency responders. The Indigenous New Hampshire Collaborative Collective’s (INHCC) ongoing project endeavors to change that by naming the trails, walkways, bridges, stairs, and other campus landscape and infrastructure with Abenaki names. 





UDAY

Another Successful Year for UDay at UNH

After two cancellations due to rain, the third scheduled date was the charm for the annual University Day (UDay) event at UNH. The event finally happened on Sept. 22 and proved to be a huge success.

Covid persists at UNH despite high vaccination rates

As of Aug. 31, 88% of University of New Hampshire (UNH) students arriving in Durham, 77% of UNH faculty and 70% of UNH staff had provided proof of vaccination. Despite relatively high vaccination rates, COVID-19 is still prevalent on campus, with the UNH COVID-19 dashboard showing 74 positive tests in the last seven days as of Sept. 22.
