Once again, Netflix has produced a superb original indie flick. “Win It All” may not be as action-jam-packed as other Netflix films, but it has a nearly unique style in the modern world of drama-prevalent and pristine videography.
The first story I ever published in The New Hampshire was about the Houston Ballet II performing in the Johnson Theatre. Since then, the Arts section has not been a place readers have seen my name. This is mainly due to the fact that about a month later I joined the Department of Theatre and Dance as a dance minor and a Jazz, Tap, Aerial (JTA) dancer in the UNH dance company. So, full disclosure, this is a highly bias column because although I am no longer in the company due to this wonderful publication, I am still close friends with the dancers, spend six hours a week in aerial class with Gay Nardone, have taken jazz with Mary Beth Marino and ballet with Susan Endrizzi and Assaf Benchetrit. The studio in New Hampshire Hall is the first place I truly found myself at UNH, the first place I met the people who share a passion of dance and the place where I could express myself in the best way I know how; dancing.
Last week’s UNH Dance Company concert consisted of two very diverse performances; an adaptation of “Cinderella” for ballet, and a Jazz, Tap and Aerial (JTA) performance of “Ooh, La Paree!” Among the highlights of the JTA performance was a mesmerizing duet by twin sisters Miranda and Marissa Parker, both juniors at UNH.
For a day-to-day, easy makeup look, I always start with moisturizing my face. Typically I use whatever moisturizer I have on hand, ranging from Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer to the It Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream, which I’ve been loving lately. I prime my face with Becca’s Backlight Priming Filter and move on to foundation. Typically I wear the Physicians Formula BB Cream because it’s lightweight and also SPF 20. I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to hide any blemishes and brighten my under eyes. I bronze with NARS Laguna Beach bronzer. If I end up taking the extra step, I like to wear a pink cool-toned blush such as Impassioned, also by NARS and any of the Becca highlighters. Today I am wearing highlight on my cheekbones and under my brow in the shade Opal. I always curl my lashes and apply mascara. L’Oréal’s Telescopic in carbon black has been my go-to for years now. As for the brows, I just brush them and quickly fill them in with Anastasia’s Brow Wiz in soft brown. To finish off the look, I set with Urban Decay’s De-Slick makeup setting spray. If you enjoy wearing some color on your lips, the Vice lipsticks by Urban Decay are great. My favorite shade is Stark Naked.
